Velvet-covered furniture needs to be professionally cleaned. The word velvet often describes the pile and appearance of a fabric rather than one single fiber composition, so two velvet sofas can have very different cleaning requirements.

Moisture, rubbing and unsuitable cleaning products can affect the pile, texture or color of some velvets. If you have velvet furniture, tell us about it when requesting your estimate. Any manufacturer or care-label information you have can help, but the cleaning decision ultimately depends on the actual fabric and its condition.
